Leading through change is part of contemporary organisational life. As leaders take people and organisations to new horizons, it can sometimes be perplexing to understand human behaviour and why there is failure to reap the benefits that the change is touted to achieve. Leaders are often so busy in the vortex of doing the change plus BAU, they don’t reflect on the process of the change itself. In the meantime, people are getting left behind and the organisation can drift in to a performance slump. This workshop creates time-out to review the change process itself better plan for future changes by considering the people and behavioural aspects of change.
This session explores common human responses to change and resistance, including the change curve, the neuroscience behind change, and factors that influence change adoption. Participants will gain insight into why people respond differently during periods of transition and how leaders can better support individuals and teams through uncertainty.
The program also provides leaders with practical tools to navigate change effectively, including communication strategies, maintaining team connection, and influencing during periods of transition. Participants will examine how to address a “change stall” and apply practical strategies using the ADKAR model to support successful and sustainable change outcomes.

Alison has recently been part of an award-winning team in awarded Best Leadership Development Program from the Australian Institute of Training and Development.
Alison has been responsible for leading large teams and organisational interventions in her previous roles as a senior leader across the Queensland Government Departments of Main Roads, Education and Treasury, where she was responsible for workforce capability, leadership development and culture functions of the various departments. This included designing and developing cultural change initiatives, leadership and management development programs, coaching, talent pipelines and staff surveys.
