Good business decisions require a sound understanding of people issues, stakeholder concerns, operational considerations and financial impacts. The first three of these can be developed through natural aptitude and business experience - financial understanding however requires specific knowledge and skills that are beyond learning on the job. This workshops aims to fast track the development of participant's financial acumen by improving their use of financial terminology, understanding how financial information is produced and practicing how to read financial reports. Participants are then able to enter into financial discussions with more confidence, ask better decisions to gain an improved understanding and ultimately make better decisions for the organisation.
For a more detailed understanding of management and financial accounting refer to the two day workshop - Accounting for Non-Accountants
People involved in the interpreting of financial reports to make business decisions - but without a background in finance. The workshop could also apply to specialists (e.g. accounts payable / receivable staff) within the accounting department that need a fuller understanding of the whole role of finance.
