Inclusive leadership goes beyond creating psychological safety. It is about intentionally creating environments where people with different backgrounds, perspectives, identities, experiences and ways of working can contribute, participate and succeed.
This workshop explores the practical behaviours and everyday leadership practices that foster genuine inclusion within teams. Participants will examine common assumptions around fairness, communication, performance and what it means to treat people “equally,” while considering how different needs and experiences can shape workplace participation and outcomes.
Through real-world case studies, scenarios and practical discussions, participants will explore intersectionality, inclusive decision-making, communication, team dynamics and inclusive workplace practices. They will learn how to recognise barriers to participation, adapt their leadership approach, and create team environments where diverse perspectives are valued and people feel empowered to contribute.
The workshop provides leaders with practical strategies they can apply immediately to lead more inclusively, engage diverse teams, encourage participation and create conditions where everyone has the opportunity to perform at their best.

Shaheen is an inclusive learning consultant, facilitator, and founder of Ta’leem Consulting. With over 13 years of experience across higher education, corporate L&D, and the social impact sector, she has trained facilitators, designed capability programs, and developed the Inclusive Learning Framework, which is now used to upskill trainers and teams in neurodivergence, multicultural communities, and inclusive design.
Shaheen is regularly invited to speak on topics including:
* How neurodivergence shows up in organisations
* Designing neuroinclusive strategies in the workplace
* Inclusive facilitation to engage more people
* Working with multicultural communities
* The basic principles of inclusive design
She regularly speaks at conferences, facilitates community engagement workshops, and trains L&D and HR teams in inclusive learning, with a consistent focus on one key question: How can organisations increase engagement and participation in workshops and training rooms?
Outside the training room, Shaheen spent several years as part of an improv theatre house team—an experience that proved surprisingly valuable for developing her ability to read a room, engage diverse audiences, and hold space, both on stage and in the workshop environment.
