About the coach
Professional background
As a qualified performance, health and wellbeing coach, Ruth works with individuals and groups to improve performance and address underlying issues with stress management, work/life balance, communication, etc. Increasingly, Ruth is working specifically with teams and individuals during business transformations as organisations are looking to support the wellbeing of their people during these transitions.
Many companies understand the importance of providing ongoing wellbeing support for their employees, in particular as a requirement under psychosocial risk legislation, especially during periods of ongoing stress and change.
As a coach, Ruth has worked with individuals and teams in some of Australia’s largest companies across Oceania for over 10 years.
Ruth an award-winning coach accredited with the peak body for health coaching in Australia: Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association (HCANZA).
Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association (HCANZA), aligns its supervision, mentoring, and ethical standards with major coaching organisations, like the International Coaching Federation and provides a critical regulatory framework for the training, codes of conduct, and scopes of practice of its members.
She’s also a member of the Meditation Association of Australia.
Ruth has trained in VIA Character Strengths from the VIA Institute and is a member of Collective+, a professional development community by The Positivity Institute for practitioners working in positive psychology, coaching psychology, adult development, positive leadership, and organisational wellbeing. Members engage in structured, evidence-based professional development activities to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application.
Companies I have provided coaching to include:
Royal Automobile Club of QLD (RACQ)
Commonwealth Bank of Australia
Paxus
Australian Ethical Investment
Nature Care College.
Coaching process
Ongoing coaching can run from 6 weeks to several years, with meetings every 2 weeks to once a month.
1. Initial on-boarding assessment and client-fit discussion.
2. First session of 60-90 minutes one-to-one coaching. In this session a goal strategy is workshopped to ensure you are emotionally and logically connected to your over-arching goal.
3. Next, a step through of a personalised framework of goal-setting and strategy is completed over the course of weeks to months.
4. Ongoing sessions: Review and adjust goals as needed and deal with barriers that arise throughout the process.
5. Final session: Discussion and reflection of the change that has taken place and where the coachee plans to go next.
Coaching achievements and results
Ruth often works with teams and individuals who are in an organisation going through transition. The goal of coaching these groups is to assist with wellbeing during the time of change.
She also works with people who have already attempted behaviour change with support from leadership, but are still not performing to expectations and require a more in-depth approach and support from a coach in order to create better work-life balance.
Ruth also works with leaders who would like to improve performance by improving their health and wellbeing.
