This workshop is to advance the motivational interviewing skills and techniques that participants already have learnt in some introductory level training/workshop. This intermediate workshop allows us to reflect on the techniques employed in the workplace: what has worked? what do you need coaching on? It also allows us to add some new elements and again send people back to the workplace to try out skills which can then be strengthened and enhanced again in the advanced workshop.
This workshop is for anyone working with change- especially if the role involves helping the client change a behaviour- the list is not exhaustive but people who offer 'advice' are typical candidates for MI training (doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, community workers, fitness professionals, nutritionists and dietitians, substance misuse, alcohol workers, counsellors and those working in adult education are all good examples) Customer service has also become a recent focus for MI training.

His work on Motivational Interviewing is published in numerous peer-reviewed science articles and his work also builds on from delivering training workshops by coaching professionals one to one in developing their ongoing behaviour change skills back in the workplace.
