This workshop will inform participants why sleep, dubbed the Swiss army knife of health, is the single most important thing they can do for their mental and physical well-being.
Participants will be taken on a journey of discovery and have their eyes opened to the magic that happens when they close them at night.
Incorporating leading edge science, the workshop will focus on key areas, from examining sleep architecture (how the different types of sleep cycle through the night) to learning how performance can significantly be boosted and KPI’s exceeded, all through the power of sleep.
Participants will learn how decision-making ability, creativity, motivation, memory, intelligence, efficiency, effectiveness, sociability and emotional stability, traits that determine whether these measures are achieved, can all be magnified through the lens of sleep.
The link to health, wellness and disease will also be examined in addition to the dangers of accumulating sleep debt. Participants will learn how to measure their sleep debt and how and when to pay it off.
Practical applications for improving sleep and developing good sleep habits will be covered, from looking at all aspects of sleep hygiene, an essential step in setting the stage for a great night of sleep, to tools and techniques for dealing with sleeping disorders, including insomnia, a common sleep stealer, which can negatively impact health and all aspects of performance.
Participants will carry out simple self-assessments to determine their level of fatigue and also examine lifestyle factors that may be affecting their sleep, such as caffeine, alcohol exercise and more.
They will also feast on food facts to do with boosting alertness and promoting sleep and learn how food can significantly impact mood.
This workshop is for anyone who is keen to uncover the secrets of sleep and to apply the new-found knowledge, tools and techniques to their lives to boost performance and amplify wellbeing.
