Overview
This 2-day workshop (which can be delivered face-to-face or virtually) will give you the skills you need to help you manage your projects using MS Project. The workshop starts off on the assumption that you know nothing about MS Project. It takes you through the process of building a plan explaining the “how” and the “why” of each step and aligning it to project management principles. Building on those skills, it then teaches you techniques to track and monitor your project.

Who is this workshop for
If you have never used MS Project, or if you are self-taught and feel that Microsoft Project has a mind of its own, this workshop is for you. If you are new to projects and looking for a tool to help you, this workshop is for you as well.
Handouts/materials provided
The workshop uses a generic MS Project template which will be provided. But do bring along your own project plans if you would like to talk about them. You will also be given a manual to use during the training and for future reference.
What to bring
A laptop running Windows 10 or 11 with the latest version of MS Project installed and set up. Optionally, bring a mouse. Using a mouse is more efficient than the touchpad (but it is your choice).
Facilitator
Pamela Beddow MS Office & Project Manage
Having been a senior executive (Wing Commander) in the Royal Australian Air Force, Pam is an experienced leader, manager and project manager. During her military career, Pam recognized that computers would be a great productivity tool if used well and quickly gained her qualifications as a Microsoft Office Master (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MS Project) and as a business programmer. In 2016, following the advent of “big data”, Pam realized that data workers needed to know how to present their findings. So she became proficient in Power BI Desktop and data visualization design.
Throughout her three careers – as a military officer, as a database designer and developer, and as a learning and development facilitator – Pam has applied her project management and computing skills to “get the job done” with a minimum of wasted effort. She understands the issues and effort workers face and how to use computers to help.
In addition, the basis for all Pam’s professional achievements is excellent communication. She is able to explain complex concepts in plain and simple terms which makes the learning journey an enjoyable experience.
What is project management? Do you know if you are a project manager? Do you even know what a project is? If the answer is “no” to either question, you are in good company. Many people do projects without knowing it. And because of that, they do not enjoy the benefits that a project management […]
