Overview
In these challenging times, it’s more important than ever that managers understand the language of finance, the financial dynamics of their business and how they personally impact on financial productivity and profitability. Every decision they make ultimately has financial consequences.
A key feature of this introductory workshop is that participants get to look at financial performance from a big-picture perspective. The key areas in which managers influence financial performance are identified. Participants gain a good understanding of the basic financial levers they can use to manage and improve financial results.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
There are four phases:
READY is a brief ‘priming phase’ to help participants establish the mindset to maximise their learning and program benefits.
SET is where the formal learning happens.
GO helps by (a) strengthening recall of learning, and (b) guiding successful application of learning in the workplace.
SHOW is mainly about sharing of application and learning (‘sharing and shining’).
* See below for duration of these phases *

During this time, I became increasingly concerned that training (as widely implemented) had critical deficiencies and was not nearly as effective as it could and should have been. These deficiencies included (a) participants who were ill-prepared to learn […]
As an ‘old-hand’ at consulting, I’ve been fortunate to work with a large number of L&D managers and team members, both in Australia and overseas. Along the way, I’ve personally experienced the significant benefits of financial know-how and I’ve seen many L&D clients and colleagues disadvantaged by their lack of it. Stephen Covey put it […]
