OVA is often treated as a frontline behaviour issue or an unavoidable part of customer-facing work. In practice, prevention is most effective when organisations strengthen systems including work design, environments, governance, leadership expectations and reporting processes.
This workshop equips WHS and HR leaders with an evidence-based framework to manage OVA as a psychosocial hazard. Participants learn how to identify exposure points and hotspots, apply the hierarchy of controls (design and organisational controls first), strengthen reporting and classification and evaluate whether controls are working. The program supports organisations to reduce harm, improve confidence and consistency and demonstrate due diligence for psychosocial risk obligations. The focus is prevention at the source — not simply “better de-escalation skills.”
