In this interactive half-day workshop we explore the origins and mechanisms of unconscious bias, what it serves to do, and the downsides of this process.
We look at unconscious bias through the lens of a case study, allowing teams to discuss and formulate their own points of view on this topic. We also review effective tools to address and reduce unconscious bias in the workplace, including mindfulness practices, compassion exercises, and empathy-building exercises, with practical application of these tools during the workshop.
Participants walk away with a better understanding of their own biases and how these might impact them in their working life, as well as formulating a plan and action steps to help them reduce unconscious bias in their workplace.
This workshop suits any team member, from general staff to leadership, as part of a proactive wellbeing strategy. It is especially useful for cohorts who work in roles which make them more likely to experience or perpetrate unconscious bias, such as those who work with specific genders, age groups or ethnicities.
A worksheet and resources will be provided.
