About the coach
Professional background
Bec is a psychologist with almost 25 years of experience across not for profits, consulting, mining, energy and industrial services. She began her career working clinically and specialised in addictions and mental health. In addition, she has held a range of leadership roles, many on a national level within organisational development and adult learning environments. Bec also worked as an internal, senior leader within the mining, energy and industrial services sector, prior to establishing her own, successful, business psychology practice in 2019.
Coaching process
Bec uses her extensive, experience in both clinical and organisational psychology to build a trusting relationship with those she coaches, as well as their manager where appropriate. This is paramount and allows all parties to gain clarity around individual needs and the business outcomes expected at the conclusion of the process. Bec uses a solution focused approach, but never ignores the significant role that history can play on why and how we do the things we do. The first contact is an opportunity to meet Bec and discuss the expected focus areas or concerns. It’s also critical to ensure that all parties feel that they can connect and are a good match to set up a coaching relationship. This meeting is an opportunity for all parties to clearly outline the outcomes and expected objectives for the program. At the conclusion of this meeting Bec formulates a coaching plan with potential psychometric assessments, recommended duration and touch points* for the process. Bec will meet regularly with the participant; preferably face to face, however phone or Skype/ Teams can also be arranged. *Touch points are opportunities within the program for Bec to connect in with both the individual and their leader to discuss progress and ensure that sessions are keeping on track. These generally occur mid-way through the program and at the conclusion. Goals and objectives are reviewed and if required are adjusted to reflect intended outcomes.
Coaching achievements and results
Bec excels with mid to senior level leaders who have an aim to increase the safety, productivity and performance of their team/department or division. She works in a practical manner to raise self awareness, and support accountability to address performance gaps, overcome obstacles and optimise strengths with a particular focus on the enhancement of emotional intelligence or as Bec likes to call it, people capability skills. She is often provided with feedback that indicates she ‘meets people where they are at’, and has a keen eye for ensuring individual, team and business outcomes that are aligned with strategy. In addition, as a seasoned facilitator Bec also delivers group and team coaching programs that can be tailored to meet specific needs and she prides herself on working with teams to enhance relationships.
