Big Room Planning is a planning method for Agile teams when there are multiple teams working towards achieving business goals. In Big Room Planning, stakeholders and teams from various business groups come together to collaborate to develop a shared understanding so that they can deliver the business outcomes. Since all of these teams join a planning session in a 'big room' to accommodate everyone, the method is called "Big Room Planning".
Organising and running an in-person Big Room Planning events require a lot of effort, preparation and co-ordination. Taking all of that online when various teams are either remote or distributed, adds another layer of complexity to this planning effort.
In this training, you will receive step-by-step instructions for running a remote Big Room Planning meeting successfully with distributed teams.
This training is primarily for anyone who contributes and participates to a Big Room Planning session. However, this training would be very useful for Scrum Masters, Delivery managers, Delivery Leads, Project Managers, Tech leads, Business Analysts and other Agile team members.
All attending will receive the following:
– Planning instruction for tasks required pre-BRP, on the BRP day and post-BRP
– Checklists for Agile planning, organising and managing Scrum of Scrums etc.
– Templates for Team's Working Agreement, BRP agenda and creating a Program Board
– Tooling ideas for brainstorming, team discussions (breakout sessions), confidence voting and “how the team feels”
