About the facilitator
Dr Ben Jackson (PhD University of Leeds, 2008) combines cutting-edge research with industry experience to develop resilient and high performing teams. He is a researcher, educator, and facilitator with 10+ years’ experience providing consultancy to government, health, and non-profit sectors.
Ben is an internationally recognised leader in the promotion of physical and mental health. He is an Associate Professor in the University of Western Australia’s School of Human Sciences where he is a researcher and lecturer in exercise, health, and sports psychology. He speaks regularly at international conferences, has published over 120 research papers, and has contributed to more than a dozen internationally-acclaimed books. In 2018, Ben was the WA recipient of the prestigious Australian Institute of Policy and Science Tall Poppy of the Year award.
Ben is an expert in the science of resilience, social support, communication, and team-building. He helps clients move beyond buzzwords and quick fixes by focusing on the latest evidence and research-informed strategies. Ben’s programs are designed to support lasting behaviour change, promote physical and mental wellbeing, and create cohesive and supportive teams. He is committed to delivering tangible results - Ben's workshops are honest, interactive, and thought-provoking.
Ben is driven by a passion to help people lead happy, healthy, and productive lives – improving physical and mental health, connecting more closely with others, maximising our own and others’ productivity, and better managing stress at work and home. He promotes a whole-of-workplace commitment to staff wellness. Noting that no one achieves lasting change in just one day, Ben also offers 'booster sessions' and additional guidance to help embed behaviours for the long-term.
