Overview
The decisions made by Boards are crucial to the success and reputation of an organisation. In the contemporary business environment, Board members are increasingly being judged through the prism of ethics and integrity. It is therefore important that Board members are able to critically examine their decision-making to ensure it includes the exploration of potential ethical challenges.

Who is this workshop for
This 90 minute workshop is designed for early career Board members, especially those representing community groups and NFP (Not For Profit) organisations.
Handouts/materials provided
Handouts will be provided to participants on the day of the workshop. This includes a note edition of the PPT slides.
What to bring
It is recommended that participants bring a notebook and pen.

Julie Crews Business Ethicist
Julie's area of passion is the development of leaders with integrity. Julie has had a long career in education and the public service. Her public service encompassed both state and federal agencies including: Department of Premier and Cabinet, The Office of the Auditor General and The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. In these roles her work included the provision of advice on government policies, the preparation of Ministerial briefing notes, responses to Parliamentary Questions and Ministerial speeches.
She has two undergraduate degrees, in Education and the Arts, a Masters of Industrial Relations and a Doctorate which examined Ethical Leadership conducted with Chief Executive Officers of both the public and private sectors.
Her research and corporate work has covered such areas as values held by university students, the ethical dilemmas faced by local government planners, police and executives in Sri Lanka.
She has conducted many forums on ethics and leadership in both the public and private sectors at a state and national level. Julie has also been invited to work and present on ethics and leadership internationally in Sri Lanka, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and, most recently, Italy.
Julie taught Business Ethics and Corporate Governance at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. She has appeared regularly in various media outlets including radio, television and print media speaking about business ethics.
