About the facilitator
Karyn brings over 25 years of experience in human resources across private, government, and non-profit sectors. She has held key HR positions with organisations such as World Vision Australia, Wellways, Cleanaway, Accenture, Allens Linklaters, Dun & Bradstreet, RACV, and several local government councils including City of Whitehorse, City of Greater Dandenong, and Murrindindi Shire Council.
Her experience extends to serving on boards and committees, including a law firm superannuation fund, a NDIS-funded disability services provider, and a community-owned childcare organisation. As a Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), Karyn has both hands-on and strategic expertise, enabling her to understand how HR drives value within organisations.
Karyn has led HR teams in areas such as HR business partnering, payroll, recruitment, and learning and development. Her broad expertise includes employee and industrial relations, employment law, performance and engagement, diversity and inclusion, enterprise agreement negotiations, strategic HR planning, and HR systems implementation. She is passionate about fostering respectful and accountable workplace cultures and believes that optimizing employee engagement is key to achieving organisational goals.
Karyn holds a Bachelor of Business (HR), a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Certificate IV in Project Management, and is certified in Mental Health First Aid (2022). Additionally, Karyn is a certified coach in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and volunteers on the Committee of Management for a rural disability services provider.
