Elena has been an educator and trainer for 20+ years with a focus on resilience, mental health and safety at work for over 5 years. She finds working with organisations to create a psychologically safe workplace very rewarding because the benefits are huge. Teams that work well together are more productive.
With the advent of the new International Standard, ISO45003, Elena has been better able to identify workplace activities and behaviours that lead to high levels of stress, 'presenteeism' and increased sick leave. She has recently conducted a four month Pilot Study which has provided evidence that identifying the stressors can make a huge difference to sustainable, positive change.
**The final survey showed that 78% of employees demonstrated a low level of psychological distress compared to 58% in the first survey.**
Elena combines the use of validated analytical tools to identify the risks, with the Resilience at Work Toolbox - a developmental tool for Leaders, Individuals and Teams. Research shows that training on its own, has less than a 20% uptake without backup so Elena likes to offer training and coaching in ‘small bites’ where possible to encourage attendees to be more engaged in the journey and more accountable.
Positive mental health and wellbeing has never been more important to organisations. Delivering Mental Health First Aid to lawyers, government employees, teachers, not for profit groups, and many more has helped Elena to get the message across that we can all make a difference. Elena loves to work with organisations to create a safe environment where people can excel!
Some years ago, Elena created the 7 As, a great development tool to focus on growing self-awareness and self-regulation to grow Emotional Intelligence using Positive Psychology.

Elena also works with a Psychology Services group as a Resilience Coach supporting people who suffer from anxiety and depression to become more resilient. Her experience as a sports coach, educator and life coach, means that she understands what motivates people. She's a keen kayak instructor and loves to get out on the whitewater testing her skills and her ability to stay the right way up!
