    Workshop:
    Effective Committees

    Overview

Committees are a fantastic way for organisations to effectively deal with complex or specialised issues and are often delegated to by boards. Often with no experience in managing or being part of a committee, the people involved sometimes don't know how to structure and chair their meetings or effectively manage and communicate the issues they are working on.

This workshop provides participants with an understanding of the value that Committees can play in organisational effectiveness, the essential ingredients for setting up Committees for success, the importance of having a clear purpose (and Terms of Reference), the Committee membership mix, size and structure, the individual and collective roles of Committee members (including the role of the Chair), meeting procedures, decision-making processes, how to best communicate decisions and outcomes, and assessing and reviewing Committee effectiveness.
