Professional background
Suzy is an organisational development professional, held senior leadership positions with Verizon Wireless, Vodafone Australia Retail and worked with some of Australia’s largest names in assisting them with their people development. With a natural gift of empathy balanced with a focus on actions and achieving measurable outcomes, Suzy has been supporting others to overcome barriers and build highways of professional success for decades. Her skills for coaching were identified early in her career through her increased levels of leadership of newly developed teams in sales, marketing, product management and service delivery in 49 US states – as well as international assignments – with Verizon Wireless, 1985 – 2001 (US).
Suzy believes everyone has the answers to their own development needs, but sometimes an objective, supportive person asking targeted questions helps us get there faster and more completely. Suzy uses fit-for-purpose tools to help coachees gain clarity, set goals and consciously own their successes and actions.
Coaching process
Her ability to build rapport gains her permission to stretch coachees to take them from knowing, to doing and then to being the professional they want to be. She considers it a privilege and honour to watch as clients achieve new levels of personal best through setting and achieving goals.
Suzy applies a wide variety of tools designed to enable clarity and leverage cognition styles in complex situations; to enable targeted goal-setting and action plans. She is also licensed in a robust set of validated diagnostic tools to create benchmarks and focus that inspire positive changes and mindsets.
Coaching achievements and results
Emotional intelligence is a practice strength for Suzy as she has coached EI for over 10 years with hundreds of clients. Another area of coaching expertise for Suzy is coaching to support the application of learning into the workplace – an activity crucial to gaining the most value from learning and development investments. Finally, Suzy has led and participated on teams creating and launching world-first innovations through strategic planning and is very familiar with the challenges and the need to align organisational strategy with OKRs and actions. Her experience has taught her that these types of initiatives and changes are advanced through individual coaching of strategic leaders and change advocates who are often faced with challenging situations.
